A new life … new beginning
In the month of January 2008 we had a meeting with the parents of the slum children to spread awareness about hygiene and to understand their needs. During this meeting Gayathri’s mother cried out her daughters problem and told us she had a hole in her heart. Although she had approached several government hospitals, she could not afford the operation cost.
Hence Yuva Bengaluru took the initiative of helping Gaythri. We started off by approaching several hospitals but our efforts went in vain as they did not have any provision for funding her operation.
Later one of our volunteers put forward this issue to Mr Abhay.P.Singavi who is the Executive Director of Narayana Hrudayalaya. He agreed to help us.

Our volunteers helped in completing the formalities and the operation was performed. Gayathri is now hail and hearty and eagerly wants to go back to her “new” school. Her parents and siblings are so happy that she is healthy and have promised to take atmost care of her.
The entire team of Yuva Bengaluru thanks Narayana Hrudalaya for extending their services to the needy. We are also glad that he operation was done without any delay 
They have truly helped spread our message of “Every Child deserves a chance.” by gifting Gayathri with a new life..a new beginning:)
