The class 8th to 10th students at state government high schools will get a guidance to choose right career after their SSLC examinations from this academic year.
The career guidance programme commenced on Friday.
Yuva Bengaluru Trust started career guidance for 8th to 10th students at government high schools from 2022-23 academic year. "Multilanguage Career Selection Test" (Yuva Career Guidence Program ) launched today pilot basis at a school in Bengaluru with the target to cover 50,000 students.
Under Yuva Career Guidence Program, the academic, personality, aptitude and interests of students will be analyzed by conducting a test for 2.5 hours at respective schools. Mr G Kiran Sagar Founder Managing Trustee Yuva Bengaluru Trust said, "The test will be conducted using Tablets available with us. As it is a online test our team will brief students about the procedure and demonstrate how to attend it before students attempting it."
Soon after the completion of the test, a report card will be generated and the same will be handed over to the principal of the school for further action. "If required we will provide one-on-one counselling to students" said Kiran.
Career Counselling helps them understand the career options that they have, and how to pursue them. Career Counselling helps them understand their own strengths and weaknesses with regard to their present course or profession, and lets them know what career they would be suited for.
Special thanks to Yuva Bengaluru Trustees Swetha S Rao, Sunil B V & Praveen SB for cordinating this program.
